Clients:
Stephenson County Convention and Visitors’ Bureau, Freeport Area Economic Development Foundation,
City of Freeport, Freeport Area Chamber of Commerce,
Freeport Park District, and Stephenson County
Project Objective:
The disparate
collection of web sites that showcase Stephenson County
and Freeport, Illinois, needs to be tied together in
order to promote the area more productively.
No one web site exists that
neatly packages all there is to know about the Freeport
and Stephenson County region, and there likely will
never be such a site. However, there are many online
offerings from within the region that when taken
together form a comprehensive picture of what the area
has of interest to consumers, tourists and businesses.
Strategy:
M45 designed the Freeport/Stephenson County Web Ring to
promote the region to both new visitors and residents
through the use of interconnected web pages. A Web Ring
allows visitors to start on any one page, click on the
“Web Ring” link, and then navigate to other sites
included in the ring. By clicking from page to page, the
visitors are allowed to experience a broad perspective
of the area and its services, finally coming back to the
very first page where they started. For those
organizations and businesses involved in the ring, this
is an excellent way to give their Website added exposure
by those navigating the ring. M45 developed and
programmed the Web Ring home page and the Web Ring
functional links that are placed on member sites.
Results:
The Freeport/Stephenson County Web Ring now has a
growing list of
members linking to osites in three categories –
Visitors/Tourists, Community/Government and
Business/Economic Development.
