PREPARE TO LAUNCH

What do you associate with these words: web? chip? mouse? CD? If you answered spider, snack, rodent, and investment, perhaps you should bookmark a good computer dictionary.

As evidenced by the frequent updates to this site, technology changes so quickly that even experts have trouble keeping up with the jargon.

THE SPOTLIGHT

WEB APPLICATIONS

Have you overheard situations like these in your office?

  • "A thousand participants keep track of their progress on paper sheets. If they're turned in, we have to go in by hand and enter the data into a spreadsheet."
  • "Half of the graphics files are catalogued in an antiquated database, the rest are scattered on the LAN or in files where only the 15-year veterans can find them, not including whatever assets may be at acquisition sites or contractors."
  • "This team has members in three states, Germany and Korea. People are sending out multiple versions of large files over email...we're unable to check or advance the status of a project when we're off-site."

Well, they came to the right source. M45 client managers and Web designers and developers listened to these customers' problems and quickly offered suggestions for secure solutions that would markedly increase their efficiency.

Depending on your requirements, we can set up automated third-party software or design a custom application on your current Web server. From surveys to email access and distribution to global project collaboration, we would be happy to show you our portfolio and discuss how you can improve your internal and customer communications online.

DESTINATION: M45

Glasgow, Scotland

Our largest client has its worldwide communications headquarters in Newhouse, United Kingdom. We asked the nearby Glasgow Chamber of Commerce to share with our readers a little about the area and its business climate:

With a population in excess of 600,000, Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland.

The home of Scotland's world-famous shipbuilding industry, Glasgow has a rich industrial heritage. Today the city is a modern business center, with a growing financial district, a skilled workforce and a thriving private sector.

Glasgow is also Scotland's cultural capital. In 1990, the city was acclaimed European City of Culture, heralding a period of cultural and architectural renaissance that has revitalized the city.

Home to the internationally acclaimed Burrell Collection, Glasgow boasts many of the works of the famed Scottish architect and designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Loch Lomond National Park and the World Heritage Site of New Lanark are within easy reach of the city.

Glasgow also has a rich sporting heritage and is home to Scotland's two most successful soccer teams, Rangers and Celtic, and Scotland's world-famous international soccer arena, Hampden Park.

The city is well known, too, for its vibrant nightlife, with a wide array of theaters, bars and restaurants, and some of the best shopping outside of London.

Tourism is the lifeblood of Scotland's economy, and Glasgow is proud to play its part in promoting Scotland to the rest of the world.

With over eight million passengers a year, Glasgow Airport is Scotland's busiest, with more international routes than any other.

Glasgow has strong business ties with North America. The city is Scotland's principal gateway to the U.S., with year-round services to New York, and summer-only services to Chicago and Philadelphia. Destinations across Canada are also well served.

We invite you to visit Glasgow—a vibrant, dynamic, city, served by Scotland's international airport.
