Stephenson County Self-Serve
On May 12, a new Stephenson County, IL, Website was launched which will make it easier for area residents to access information from their local county government. M45 Marketing Services was selected to design and create the comprehensive site which contains over 100 pages of information with key sections on departmental overviews, printable forms, contact information, FAQs, and helpful links to other government-related sites.
County Board member Tim Whalen praised M45 for its work on the site: "We definitely got our money's worth. I think these guys at M45 did a bang-up job. It looks fantastic."
Marilyn Smit, co-founder of M45, commented: "Government is a complicated thing. They didn't want a lot of expensive bells and whistles, and we focused on meeting both their budget and functional needs. The goal was to make the site as uncomplicated as possible. It's very nice and clean. It's easy to use. It's focused on information."

Melissa Namio recently joined M45 as a community relations specialist. Well, we'll let her do the introduction:
I am a native of Freeport and proud to say I am a Pretzel (which, for those of you not in the know, is the mascot of my alma mater, Freeport High School). After attending the University of Northern Iowa, where I received my BA in psychology and health and my MA in health education, I was fortunate enough to come back to Freeport and join FHN Healthcare Centers serving northwest Illinois. Throughout my five years with FHN, I was actively involved in community health education. I am very excited to join the M45 family!
On a personal note, my husband Nick is a special education teacher at Freeport High School. We are proud parents of a 10-month old little boy, Joseph, who is very active! In addition to spending time with family a few other interests of mine include getting together with friends, reading and anything that gets me outside and moving.

We think training is importantand wanted to see what others may have said on the topic:
Perhaps the most valuable result of all education is the ability to make yourself do the thing you have to do, when it ought to be done, whether you like it or not; it is the first lesson that ought to be learned; and however early training begins, it is probably the last lesson learned thoroughly. Thomas H. Huxley
Training is everything. The peach was once a bitter almond; cauliflower is nothing but cabbage with a college education. Mark Twain (1835 - 1910)
It’s all to do with the training; you can do a lot if you’re properly trained. Elizabeth II
